We believe a person must receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5; Acts 2:38). We also believe that the initial sign that a person has received this gift is speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-6). So to answer your question directly, we believe that a foundational part of the salvation experience (the New Birth) is speaking in tongues. But to be clear, it is not just speaking in tongues; it is speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance.
