Question: I feel that it is nothing wrong with curling irons and perms. These are used in keeping a womans hair managable and well kept. I am an afro american woman and perms keep my hair looking nice for our hair are tightly curled and afros are not my forte. Everything has to do with moderation. Keeping one's hair well kept is part of her femininity. All of us do not have straight hair that we can pull back neatly. Besides the fact it's what's in the heart that counts as long as we do it with moderation. I have a problem with people that want to take everything away from a womans femininity. That is part of being a woman. You can look nice and still be saved.

Answer: Thank you for your comments. We agree that a women can look nice and be saved. Looking nice is not the issue. Our concern is with altering the natural beauty that Jesus gives each individual. If Jesus intended you to have curly hair, where do you get the authority to alter it by applying man-made chemicals? That is the issue. We believe God's people look the nicest when they make the most of what God has given them, not when they change it into something different.
